The plan concerns the area between the four IJssel villas renovated last year and the new apartment complex Rentree will be built next to the Panoramaflat. The old properties, including De Boze Goudvis, are historically valuable but dilapidated. They will be thoroughly renovated, converted into housing and complemented by appropriate new construction.
There will be various types of town houses, studio flats, flats and maisonettes, most of which fall in the more expensive owner-occupied segment. Parking will be partly on private property and partly in the urban yard behind the houses.
Report from the municipality of Deventer: “When assessing the plans, the architecture of I’M architecten in collaboration with Davide Macullo Architects from Lugano was rated as excellent.
According to the municipality assessment committee, the plan is of a high architectural level with its own view of the identity of the Sluiskwartier without being historicised. The rich architecture is anchored in the area in a surprising way.”
Daniël Kleine Schaars (I’M architecten): “As an established party in Deventer, we worked with great passion and pleasure on the assignment in collaboration with Davide Macullo for the apartment building. The design process ultimately became an inspiring search for the contemporary identity of the Sluiskwartier. We are therefore incredibly proud that this passion is being recognised and that we can shape the Deventer Stadsfront with our design.”
